Register now to attend ETSI marine comms workshop

Registrations have now opened for the ETSI Workshop on Future Evolution of Marine Communication, which will take place in France during November.

The event will investigate the concept of e-navigation for the regulation and control of marine traffic, and the role that it will play in the evolution of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).

This workshop will also explore how the evolution of the GMDSS could affect marine radiocommunication and navigation standardisation in the mid to long term. It takes into account future requirements in terms of capacity/rate for data transmission, as well as security aspects which are essential for improving maritime safety.

All professionals working on the development of e-navigation will find this event beneficial, as will organisations with an interest in the development and standardisation of an integrated e-navigation system.

The full program for the workshop will be available during September.

In parallel with the workshop, the event will include a number of demos on e-navigation related technologies. The call for demos (tabletop exhibits) is now open and proposals should be submitted by 25 September 2017. More information is available here.

The workshop will take place on 7–8 November 2017 in Sophia Antipolis, France.
