Remote programmer

Wednesday, 05 March, 2008 | Supplied by: Amalgamated Instrument Co

Amalgamated Instrument has released a radio remote programmer for its large digit displays. This enhances the flexibility of the display range by allowing both set-up and control without wired connection or the necessity to access the set-up pushbuttons within the display. This ease of set-up presents a real safety advantage.

The control consists of two parts - a receiver board within the display and a handheld transmitter. The receiver can be set with one of 15 addresses and will respond to transmissions only on that address. The transmitter is available as a single address model or a multiple address model.

An optional whip antenna can be supplied.

Range is typically 60 m in free space with the whip antenna, 30 m in free space with an external wire antenna and 20 m in free space with the PCB loop antenna. This last option is only suitable for AIC's displays with plastic housings.

The remote transmitter duplicates the operation of the P, F, Up arrow and Down arrow buttons used in all AIC instrumentation to set up the instruments. The P button can be assigned a specific operation such as a zeroing or a tare function if required.
