The conneX SNAP24b-USB is a wireless access device for Wi-Fi networks. It allows a USB equipped computer to communicate directly with a wireless network at speeds up to 11 Mbps.

Due to its built-in high gain antenna, the device typically has better performance than many PCMCIA-based wireless adapters. With its compact size, it is easier to transport and store and fits easily in a pocket or briefcase.

The plug-and-play aspects of the USB port make it easier to installation and the unit receives power directly from the USB port so there are no bulky wall transformers or chargers to deal with. The installation is automatic with no complicated set-up, independent of the computer's operating system.

Once connected to a Wi-Fi network, users can access email, surf the internet or share files and other resources such as printers and network storage with other computers. The adapter also allows for peer to peer connections between computers without the need for a wireless access point or router. This allows two computers to communicate directly and share resources without the need for an established Wi-Fi network.

The unit is compatible and interoperable with all major brands of wireless equipment and will work in any 802.11b or 802.11g wireless network.
