Monday, 20 July, 2015

Australia’s premier automation, control and instrumentation conference and expo, ACI Connect, will be formally opened next month in Sydney by senior executives from the sector’s two leading industry bodies, Engineers Australia (EA) and the Institute of Instrumentation, Control & Automation (IICA).

The day one welcome on 12 August will be presented by the newly appointed CEO of the IICA, Greg Garrihy, while day two will be opened by Stephen Finlay, General Manager of EA’s Sydney chapter.

ACI Connect 2015 will focus on the technologies and trends that will drive the A&C sector into the future, with IoT, Industry 4.0, industrial communications and niche manufacturing under the spotlight. Keynote presentations will come from industry experts from IBM, Aurecon and Siemens.

The event will also feature two key inaugural industry forums, with Future Networks on day one to include presentations and open forum discussion with experts representing four of the main industrial communications network protocol groups — Profibus Australia, ODVA, FieldComm Group and EtherCAT Technology Group.

Day two will showcase the Engineers Australia Future Tech Forum, with eight presentations covering a range of practical case studies and technical papers showcasing the application of new technologies in the A&C sector in Australia.

Conference delegates will also have the option to select from a range of practical, hands-on Tech Minilab sessions over the two days, while the co-located exhibition will feature the latest products and technology applications from leading vendors.

ACI Connect 2015 will be held at Sydney Showground on 12–13 August.
