Inmarsat named Global Satellite Operator of the Year
The Global Satellite Operator of the Year title has been awarded to Inmarsat at Euroconsult’s 13th Annual Awards for Excellence in Satellite Communications.
The annual awards recognise companies and their management for outstanding accomplishments in the satellite sector. Winners are chosen by a panel of industry experts who assess candidates using rigorous qualitative and quantitative criteria.
Rupert Pearce, CEO at Inmarsat, said, “With Global Xpress in commercial service worldwide, our European Aviation Network on course to commence network trials in 2017 and the first two satellites in our sixth-generation fleet on order with Airbus, we are entering a highly dynamic period of growth in our company’s history.
“To be named Global Satellite Operator of the Year reinforces the global reach and global impact Inmarsat is achieving in diverse markets and communities across the world.”
Euroconsult announced the winning recipients during World Satellite Business Week in Paris on 14 September.
Michele Franci, chief technology officer at Inmarsat, collected the award on behalf of Inmarsat at the event.
