Mobile device manufacturer RugGear joins TCCA

RugGear, a provider of rugged mission- and business-critical communication solutions, has announced membership of TCCA, the global member-led organisation for the critical communications ecosystem.

RugGear rugged mobile devices are designed with particular focus on emergency services and first responders’ requirements. Sectors supported include security, public safety, energy production, aviation and logistics.

Founded in 2006, RugGear cooperates globally with mobile communications suppliers and operators as well as solution and integration providers, and is represented in Europe, the USA, the Middle East, Australia and Asia.

“Joining TCCA reflects RugGear’s commitment to the future of mission-critical communications,” said Maverick Chen, CEO of RugGear. “As broadband technologies become increasingly essential for first responders and public safety professionals, we believe it’s vital to actively contribute to the development of open, standardised solutions. By collaborating with TCCA members across the global critical communications ecosystem, we aim to ensure our rugged devices continue to meet the evolving needs of those who rely on them most.”

Specifically for mission-critical communication, devices are equipped with SOS, PTT (Push-to-Talk) buttons and large battery capacity. RugGear devices support zero touch to simplify deployment and are MDM (Mobile Device Management) ready. The use of MDM solutions allows different access levels to be assigned to each user, enabling the control centre to disable only unsecure details rather than the whole function.

“Business- and mission-critical end users work in demanding environments requiring ruggedised device solutions,” said TCCA CEO Kevin Graham. “RugGear has an established history of providing specialised devices and accessories for such environments and we are pleased to welcome them to our growing list of manufacturers supporting solutions to meet the needs of our global user community.”
