Simoco to demonstrate DMR and P25 at Comms Connect

Simoco is inviting Comms Connect attendees to see demonstrations of the company’s latest range of DMR and P25 equipment.

On view will be the AMBE +2 vocoder enhanced P25 terminals, which are recognised by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Compliance Assessment Program (CAP) as meeting interoperability standards with other P25 vendors. The terminals will be running on Simoco’s simulcast infrastructure, connected to an Avtech dispatcher via a direct serial interface (DSFI), illustrating a complete end-to-end P25 solution.

Simoco Xd, an IP-based DMR solution, including the new 50-watt base station, which launched last month, will be on display as a cost-effective solution in mission-critical radio environments.

Visitors will also see Simoco’s Voice Recorder in action, along with TRACX and Reveloc automatic vehicle location and personal solutions that enable real-time tracking of GPS-equipped terminals.

Andy Grimmett, Simoco’s head of product strategy and chair of the DMRA, will be presenting on Open Standard DMR Tier III Trunking as part of the conference. As a strong advocate of a truly open multivendor market for critical communications, Grimmett will explore the importance and value of manufacturers developing solutions that adhere to open standards and are backed by the DMRA.

Following the success of Comms Connect Sydney in June, organisers expect to see over 1000 critical communications professionals across the utilities, public safety, government, transport and mining sectors. Simoco says its attendance at both events marks the company’s commitment to delivering integrated communications solutions to a broad range of markets in Australia.
