SITA and EGYPTAIR pair up for mission-critical connectivity
EGYPTAIR has signed a five-year contract with air transport communications specialist SITA for the implementation, management and modernisation of the airline’s entire communications network.
The deal is designed to provide mission-critical connectivity to EGYPTAIR’s headquarters and across more than 190 sites around the globe.
SITA, as the main provider of network communications to EGYPTAIR, wil provide a state-of-the-art private network with a centralised and secured breakout to the internet and to EGYPTAIR hosts, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity to increase operational efficiency.
SITA’s ServiceNet will also allow fast and secure access to more than 20 third-party services from EGYPTAIR’s existing IP VPN connections.
EGYPTAIR flies throughout the Middle East, Africa and Europe, to several Asian destinations and New York, and carried close to nine million passengers in 2014.
EGYPTAIR Holding Company Chairman and CEO Sherif Fathi said: “We are constantly searching for ways to enhance our operational efficiency, and with SITA’s range of IP services we have a communications solution that covers all of our domestic and international sites and connects them to our headquarters. SITA is unique in offering a complete solution that responds to all of our requirements.”
As part of the five-year agreement, EGYPTAIR will also deploy SITA messaging services in order to exchange mission-critical information with its partners across the air transport community.
The announcement follows SITA’s recent appointments to work with the Egyptian Airports Company (EAC) and Hurghada International Airport.
