Submissions open for regional telecommunications review
Industry is invited to submit feedback on an issues paper released by the 2018 Regional Telecommunications Review.
Those who depend upon reliable regional communications in rural and remote Australia can have their say by lodging a formal submission by 5 August 2018 on the Have Your Say page.
The Regional Telecommunications Independent Review Committee is established every three years to undertake an independent review of telecommunications services in regional, rural and remote Australia.
With online services now increasingly essential for everyday tasks, the committee wants to get a comprehensive understanding of any issues communities are facing, and the opportunities for maximising the benefits of communications services in regional Australia.
The committee will report to Senator Bridget McKenzie, Minister for Regional Communications, by 30 September 2018.
The committee will also be hosting public consultation sessions in several regional areas across the country over an eight-week period. The session times will be published online once confirmed.
