Talking about the ‘invisible stuff’

Wednesday, 05 December, 2012

The first day of RadioComms Connect ended with Chris Chapman, chairman and CEO of Australian Media and Communications Authority (ACMA), launching the second review paper ‘The 803-960 MHz band - Exploring options for future change’, available on the ACMA website.

This paper is seeking comment on options for expanding the 800 MHz band, consideration of the technical and licensing arrangements in the digital cellular mobile telephony service segments, opportunities for facilitating new or expanding existing services in underutilised parts of the 803-960 MHz band and the future overall structure of the band.

Chapman also spoke about the 400 MHz review and the close relationship the authority has with the Australian Radio Communications Industry Association (ARCIA) with the association contributing greatly to the review of the band.

He urged all radio industry members to stay engaged and involved with ACMA and respond to discussion papers released as all constructive responses are taken into consideration for each review.
