Trimble Navigation has completed the integration of the Cinterion EU3-P WCDMA modem within its TM3000 asset-tracking device.

This GPS tracking and data acquisition device provides extensive capability from simple track and trace to fully integrated fleet management black box functionality.

Now, with the addition of 3G capabilities, it is able to operate in areas where only 3G coverage is available as well as provide higher data rates.

The Cinterion EU3-P is Telstra Next G approved and is tri-band UMTS: 850/900/2100 MHz, HSDPA data rates: DL: max 3.6 Mbps, UL: max: 384 Kbps and an operational temperature range of -40 to +85°C.

The standardisation by Cinterion of the 80-pin connector and AT command set for newer 4G versions of their modem technology, provides the TM3000 with a communications road map.
