Sepura has won a contract to provide mobile radios to the South African Police Service throughout the Gauteng province.

The contract, secured by Altara - one of Sepura’s partners in South Africa - in conjunction with Verstay, will see Sepura deliver an estimated 2000 SRG3900 radios to the Police Service over the next two years.

The SRG3900 has 10 W of RF power, which Sepura claims provides the greatest operational range of any TETRA radio.

The Gauteng province, which includes the cities of Johannesburg and Tshwane (formerly Pretoria), covers an extensive area; it has a population of over 12.3 million and an undulating topology.
