Wireless and ethernet at Sydney conference

Thursday, 09 August, 2007

A two-day conference designed to maximise the value of wireless and ethernet systems, will be held in Sydney, 5"6 December.

Called the Australian Industrial Wireless and Ethernet: Mining, Manufacturing and Utilities Conference, the event will offer practical and contemporary take home advice and provide a networking opportunity for attendees.

The use of wireless, mesh networks and ethernet in industrial and plant floor environment has grown over the last few years and users face a wide range of options when designing and implementing plant level wireless and ethernet networks.

The aim of the conference is to understand current wireless networking, apply wireless technology to industrial automation, provide guidance on implementing wireless LAN and interface it to ethernet, demonstrate how to implement radio telemetry links, compare the strengths and weaknesses of the different wireless technologies, describe the operation on standards such as IEEE 802.11 and understand the basic jargon and terminology.

Attention will also be focused on integrating communications protocols, standards and SCADA systems.

The event will focus on delegates being active participants throughout the two days and they will be able to become involved in interactive discussions and interviews with the presenters.
