When it comes to the RF footprint, the latest generation of HELIAX from CommScope provides a single-source interconnect solution designed for good performance in all types of cellular network site architectures.

From traditional to remote radio head configurations, the HELIAX 3.0, built on Andrew Solutions connectivity technology, offers hybrid fibre and coaxial options that deliver high performance for technologies such as LTE. The interconnect solution is said to also provide faster, easier installations, network consistency and reduced passive intermodulation (PIM).

For sites with remote radio heads, the HELIAX Remote Fiber Feeder Cable features a gel-free design, a UV-rated outer jacket, rugged lightning-tested shield and dry moisture-blocking elements within each fibre component. The cable is available in singlemode or multimode with fibre and power conductor configurations and counts to supply a wide range of remote radio unit designs. Built-in redundancy provides insurance and future-proofing for LTE, WiMAX and MIMO.

The HELIAX FXL series cable, connectors and assemblies are designed and tested for low PIM. A triple-bonded smoothwall construction, which uses a closed microcell foaming technology, staves off moisture for absolute weatherproofing. EZfit Connectors assist in applying long-term contact pressure in the event of high wind conditions or tower vibrations. The cable assemblies provide a single PIM-defeating jumper solution for all site architecture.
