BivarOpto has introduced a wedge-based LED designed for extended life and to replace conventional T-1 (5 mm) wedge-based incandescent bulbs.

Applications include telecommunications, switching systems, lifts, motor vehicle instrument panels, annunciators, indicators and miniature lighted push-button switches.

The WB5 series features a flat-faced lens with an internal reflector for enhanced light intensity while providing a 180° wide-viewing angle for optimal display efficiency.

Rated 2.5 to 48 VDC, the unit is for applications where vibration, electrical and mechanical shock, and heat typically reduce the service life of incandescent lamps. It offers an extended service life rated at up to 100,000 h, while requiring low operating current (10-30 mA typical).

The device is available in a brilliant white, blue, purple, turquoise, ultramarine, green, yellow, amber, orange and red.
