Transformer cores

Core shapes U126 and I126 have been added to the Epcos range of U and I cores (U93, I93, U101 and U141) for power transformers.

The U126 closes the gap between the U101 and U141.

Wider post spacing and long posts make this core suitable for high-voltage generation.

Typical applications include x-ray generators and magnetic resonance tomographs in medical engineering.

The core can transmit power of about 7 kW. The U126 can be used in a combination of two U cores or one U and one I core.

As in other large-volume U cores with a square cross-section, transmissible power can be increased further by combining several U cores in one large U or E core.

The U126 and I126 cores are available in ferrite materials N27 and N87.
