Anritsu has introduced the Broadband Site Master S810D/S820D series cable and antenna analysers that are claimed to provide the widest frequency bandwidth of any handheld instrument, allowing for the precise detection of faults in cables and antennas used in wireless backhaul and defence/aerospace applications.
The models cover the frequency range of 25 MHz to 20 GHz (model S820D). By using the handheld design, the device responds to the needs for field test of point-to-point radios in private/public wireless networks, as well as for servicing of aircraft and shipboard cable runs.
For microwave frequencies, the S810D/S820D combine vector error correction and waveguide dispersion corrections, for distance-to-fault accuracy of ± 1 cm in both coaxial and waveguide media. When time is critical, the S810D/S820D can find connector transitions, jumpers, kinks and degradation of antenna systems where benchtop instruments are not practical.
