Portable oscilloscopes

Agilent has introduced six oscilloscopes that are claimed to break the paradigm of portable instrumentation. With 1 Mpts deep memory, the 5000 series merges high-resolution, laboratory-quality waveform acquisition and measurement capability with a lightweight, portable frame.

For what is believed to be the first time, high-resolution measurements, typically taken with larger, more expensive instrumentation, can be taken wherever they are needed.

The instrument is designed to achieve a 100,000 wfms/s acquisition rate and a high glitch-capture. A high-definition XGA display system, which displays signals in 256 levels of intensity grading, highlights varying degrees of signal activity.
