Rohde & Schwarz has released a 40 GHz version of the R&S SGU100A RF upconverter, expanding the frequency range of the R&S SGS100A vector signal generator from 12.75 to 40 GHz. According to Rohde & Schwarz, this makes it the smallest microwave device of its kind on the market for continuous signals between 80 MHz and 40 GHz.

The compact (two height units and ½ 19″ rack width or one height unit and full 19″ rack width) combination of the R&S SGS100A and the R&S SGU100A is suited to ultrawideband aerospace and defence applications, as starting from 12 GHz the R&S SGU100A can be used with a 2 GHz I/Q modulation bandwidth.

Together with the R&S SMW200A high-end vector signal generator with a frequency range up to 40 GHz, a compact system with a maximum of three phase-coherent outputs up to 40 GHz can be set up, making it suitable for testing phased-array antenna systems.
