The Philippines' largest mobile carrier, SMART Communications, has selected to commercially deploy Mobilitec's prominent solution for Over-the-Air content delivery and management, mPower. SMART is Mobilitec's eleventh carrier grade commercial deployment. With this deployment, Mobilitec's customer base now represents a potential base of over 70 million users.

Serving over 10 million subscribers, SMART was looking for a scalable and reliable content download solution that will enable it to address the diversified content and pricing model preferences of its pre- and post-paid subscribers.

Subscribers can use a wireless WAP browser or a text message to discover, select and download content items thereby personalising their device.

"Over-the-air content downloading is a key service for SMART," said Edgardo Bautista, Group Head, MVAS Operations and Development of SMART. "We selected Mobilitec's solution because it will enable us to manage and deliver a broad suite of content services addressing the specific needs of our customers."
