Tait Electronics has launched additions to its TB7100 base station family.

First released as a 25 W 12 VDC for VHF and UHF frequency bands, the new range includes 25 W 66-88 MHz, 50 W VHF, 40 W UHF and an internal AC power supply option. These analog base stations are capable of integrated internal full duplex operation for either a voice or data channel.

The 50/40 W versions are suitable for network sites, particularly those using multiple channels and combining equipment. They are also a platform for mobile data applications such as automatic vehicle location/GPS tracking and high-speed data transfer.

Combined with TaitNet TN1100 trunking equipment at a single site, the TB7100 can also be used as part of a multi-channel trunked network, providing private and group calls and telephone interconnect for hotels, shopping centres and major events.

It is claimed to be the only base station to provide continuous duty cycle up to 50 W, high-speed data up to 19.2 Kbps, an internal AC power supply and an internal duplexer in a 1U format.

It is wall mountable and, using an optional internal duplexer, requires only a single antenna. The internal AC power supply option provides seamless AC/DC changeover on mains failure and reverse DC polarity protection.
