Trimble has launched the latest TrimTrac GPS locator and asset management device.

Known as TrimTrac version 1.5, the device increases the range of applications and the ability to protect, track and manage assets faster compared with version 1.0.

Both versions are lightweight locators with low power consumption, battery operation, onboard motion sensor, SMS messaging and GPS reception.

Version 1.5 now has GPRS to use cheaper real-time communication and onboard geofencing.

These standard features enable reporting outside scheduled hours of operation, start-stop reporting, run time meters and two-way communications.

The device requires an activated SIM card and batteries to start reporting position but has hardware and setting options that allow it to be configured to meet installation and operational requirements.
