For designers needing one-way and two-way RF systems narrowband operations and/or high data rates, Chipcon's CC 1020 offers a single-chip FSK and ASK CMOS RF transceiver.

Applications such as automatic meter reading, alarm and security, remote keyless entry, tyre pressure monitoring and home automation systems, are just a few of the potential uses.

The circuit is designed for the industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) and short range device (SRD) industries and in frequency bands 426, 429, 433, 868 and 915 MHz, but can easily be programmed at other frequencies in the 424-470 and 848-940 MHz range.

Suiting narrowband systems with channel widths of 12.5 or 25 kHz and complying with EN 300 220, the device's communication range goes to 2000 m by increasing the programmable IF bandwidth data rates up to 153.6 Kbps.

It features sensitivity of -119 dBm for 12.5 kHz channel width, programmable output power, low current consumption of RX: 16 mA and low supply voltage of 2.3 to 3.6 V. No external IF filter is needed and it has a low-IF receiver.

Few external components are needed and it is supplied in a small 32 pin QFN package. It features a digital RSSI and carrier sense indicator, single port antenna connection, data rate up to 153.6 kBaud and ASK, FSK and GSFK data modulation. It also suits frequency hopping systems.
