The Kyodo KG510 is a base station/repeater for use on 35 MHz VHF frequency bands.
The device can be used as a repeater or as a base station as it includes a 5 tone SelCall encoder/decoder as well as a DTMF encoder/decoder.
It can also be programmed with up to 99 channels with channel labels and these channels can use either wide (25 kHz) or narrow (12.5 kHz) channel spacing on a per channel basis.
The system includes a 5 MHz switching bandwidth to cover the various frequency bands.
The system electronics include a microprocessor for the frequency synthesiser and function control. Also included is a step-up VCO voltage to improve selectivity.
The wide switching technology employed in the device reduces alignment due to frequency changes. Frequency and option programming is achieved in the field by using the PC-based programming package and eliminates the need for EPROMs or removal of the covers.
The low standby current of less than 400 mA makes the device suitable for installation at remote solar powered sites.
The two RF power output levels are selectable on a per channel basis up to 50 W. Also featured is a 5 x 4 keypad and a large illuminated dot matrix LCD for good visibility.
The unit is housed in a 2RU 47 cm aluminium cabinet. The cabinet feet can be fitted, and the rack mounting brackets can be removed for desktop installations in office environments.
The channel scanning modes, each with their own priority channel, are available. Security PIN number, emergency mode, keylock, voice encryption and kill are all standard security enhancements.
