The ARCIA Inaugural Industry Dinner and Networking Event, held at Victoria Park in Brisbane, brought together almost 90 industry members and their spouses from Queensland and across Australia.
The opening address by Ros Bates MP, Minister for Science, IT, Innovation and Arts, mentioned the importance of the radio industry and its critical role in service/solution delivery for the future. Keynote speaker Spencer Howson shared his passion for wireless communications and the ability for radio to instantly connect people.
Nick Gallagher from Nixon Communications was awarded the Sir Angus Tait Memorial Scholarship and the company was also awarded official accreditation status at the event. Julia Bryce from RF Communications won the $750 Stamford Plaza voucher donated by CA Bearcom.
The next industry event will be held in South Australia on 20 September at the National Wine Centre of Australia. Further details will be released by ARCIA in June.
