Avionics and radar micro-website launched

Wednesday, 27 February, 2013

Richardson RFPD has launched its Avionics and Radar Tech Hub, a micro-website featuring the latest news, innovations and products related to avionics and radar applications.

The company provides components, subsystems and technical support within the RF signal chain for avionics transponders and radar systems, including very-high-power devices and low-power transmit/receive modules.

The micro-website features avionics and radar suppliers, including Microsemi, which has released the highest power GaN on SiC RF transistors for avionics and radar.

In addition to Microsemi's GaN transistors, the microsite features products from suppliers Freescale Semiconductor, M/A-COM Technology Solutions, Nitronex, Skyworks, TriQuint and United Monolithic Semiconductors (UMS).

The micro-website also offers links to transistor line-ups, associated products, and a wide range of technical resources that includes block diagrams, technical articles, white papers and selector guides.

"Both Richardson RFPD and Microsemi have heritages of supporting the highly specialised avionics and radar applications," said Mark Vitellaro, director, Strategic Marketing, Richardson RFPD.

"There is a lot of excitement around GaN technology and its potential to enable next-generation avionics and radar systems. Microsemi has demonstrated their commitment to the technology with their high-power GaN devices; it seemed a natural extension to develop this tech hub to feature every GaN part we offer from many of the world's leading manufacturers."

Visitors to the Avionics & Radar Tech Hub may also sign up for emailed product updates, links to technical presentation videos, and other resources like white papers and technical articles as soon as they are published.
