Comms Connect NZ conference sneak peek
Taking place at Takina Wellington on 27–28 May, Comms Connect NZ 2026 is set to break expo floor space and attendance records at the 11th edition of the event. The first draft of the conference program will be formally released later this week, but some sneak peek highlights are listed below:
- NGCC Director Steve Ferguson and CTO Steve Lawrence will keynote day one with an update on the progress of the Public Safety Network and opportunities to take the technology beyond the public safety sector in the near future.
- Hourua GM Katrina Curry and OneNZ Principal Engineer Jason Novak will share the technical back-end development of the Public Safety Network Cellular Service platform.
- Surf Life Saving NSW will share its groundbreaking AI technology being utilised for drowning prevention.
- The Radio Spectrum Management team will deliver an update.
- TCCA CEO Kevin Graham will share global critical comms insights from his attendance at CCW, MWC and IWCE in the past 3 months.
- Case studies covering cybersecurity, mmWave, LoRaWAN, fire prevention and wildlife protection, public safety powered by 5G and more.
- AI in Critical Comms panel session featuring New Zealand’s telco, tech and public safety leaders.
Also featured on the program will be the AGM of the event’s partner, RFUANZ, on the afternoon of day one, and its Gala Dinner and Awards night after day one, on the evening of 27 May. Tickets are available here.
