Des Bahr steps down from APCOA top job
Des Bahr has resigned from his part-time position as CEO of APCO Australasia (APCOA) to take on a full-time position as president of the National Safety Agency (NSA).
“As a cofounder of APCOA and CEO for the past 12 years, connecting government and private sector companies was critically important,” said Bahr.
“Since the beginning of APCOA, I have witnessed the growth of the industry and have made it a matter of heart to bring people up to date on important communications and technology innovations.”
In an email circulated to APCOA members and other industry stakeholders, APCO Australasia wished Bahr a prosperous future in his role at NSA.
“Rapid technological change and demographic shifts creates the need to realign and refocus efforts. With the enormous challenges ahead brings new opportunities,” said Bahr.
“Through my role of president with NSA, I can better engage with some of the most influential agencies around the globe, continuing to effect change.
“I have experienced a great amount of support from sponsors, partners, agencies and key stakeholders whom I would like to personally thank for their commitment. Many of you, I have worked with over a long period of time and I look forward to continuing these relationships long into the future.”
The email added that the “future and direction of APCO Australasia will be announced in the coming months”.
