Finnish hams celebrate with OF prefix
Finland is celebrating 100 years of independence in 2017. As one way to mark the occasion, Finnish amateur radio operators are being allowed to use the special call sign prefix OF instead of the usual OH.
OF is not normally available to individual users.
Those using the prefix are expected be in demand, as operators around the world seek to add the rare contacts to their QSL lists.
The temporary prefix is available to any operators who already have a personal OH call sign.
It may be used free of charge during the centenary celebration year and notification to the regulator, FICORA, is not needed.
The special arrangement was proposed by the Finnish Amateur Radio League.
