ICASA proposes apparatus exempt from spectrum licences

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has issued a notice of intention to amend Annexure B of the Radio Frequency Spectrum Regulations, 2015.

Annexure B deals with apparatus exempt from RF spectrum licences, and includes a wide range of equipment categories — from inductive devices to RFID, from wireless microphones to public mobile radio, from wideband wireless systems to broadband fixed wireless, and many more.

All of the radio apparatus must be type-approved by the Authority.

ICASA has also released a PDF list of RF Type Approved Equipment for Q1 2019.
