Mobile location centre boosted
CommScope has upgraded its GeoLENs Mobile Location Centre (MLC) in the US with new capabilities, including a combined dual plane functionality that helps determine the location of mobile devices in difficult-to-reach areas.
The centre is: faster, increasing processing capacity significantly; more intelligent, offering a system level troubleshooting guide; more flexible, integrating with existing network or MLC routers.
The upgrade offers wireless operators:
- Higher yield and accuracy with dual plane capability: GeoLENs MLC 10.2 can dynamically switch between control plane and secure user plane locating solutions to provide better accuracy and yield
- Increased capacity and lower cost: Being capable of handling nearly twice as many transactions per second means fewer location system elements need to be deployed to handle the growing amount of location requests
- More deployment options and reduced latency: The system can send the IP-based SIGTRAN signals through existing network routers or the MLC-based routers
- Decreased expenses with enhanced troubleshooting: The new system-level troubleshooting guide can help quickly diagnose location determination issues within the network, decreasing downtime as well as maintenance costs.
