Monterrey's CCTV upgrade with Teltronic

Siemens has partnered with Teltronic to supply the video surveillance solution for Monterrey’s metro system in Mexico.

Monterrey is finalising the construction of Line 3 within its rapid transit system, which will have 7.4 km of double tracks, electric trains operating on 6.5 km of elevated structure and almost 1 km of tunnels.

Siemens is responsible for implementing the signalling, telecommunications and control systems of the metro line ahead of completion next year.

Following the recent deployment of a Teltronic TETRA critical communications system within the Metro, Teltronic, part of the Sepura Group, will supply and install a security-enhancing CCTV solution.

An integrated IP video surveillance system will provide high-quality video throughout Line 3’s eight stations as well an additional station in Line 2, which will enable remote real-time monitoring as well as recording and long-term storage of all video footage.

Teltronic will also supply the solutions and applications required within the Metrorrey Command and Control Centre.

“This extension to Metrorrey’s existing TETRA system provides a complete integrated solution, combining radio solutions and CCTV, and demonstrates our continued ability to enhance passenger safety through the provision of effective subsystems and applications,” said Felipe Sanjuan Pasamar, business development director for transportation systems at Sepura Group.

“This agreement also reinforces the close collaboration between Siemens and Teltronic in the transportation market, acting yet again as technical partner for the operation of essential systems in mass transit infrastructures.”
