NEMA to release RFI for an Aust PSMB network
Australia’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has advised of the anticipated release of an open request for information (RFI) for a national Public Safety Mobile Broadband (PSMB) capability/network solution.
The RFI is the first phase of the market approach and will seek to:
- gather information on what technical and service offerings for a PSMB capability/network solution are available in the market;
- ascertain the costs involved in establishing, operating and maintaining a national PSMB capability/network solution in Australia;
- prequalify vendors for a subsequent procurement process (planned to be conducted in the 2025–2026 financial year) for, minimally, the communications technology, coverage, infrastructure and associated goods and services required to deliver and operate a PSMB capability/network solution.
Procurement will be the second phase of the market approach. It will focus on the communications technology, coverage and infrastructure needed for a PSMB network. The procurement will also include associated goods and services.
NEMA encourages all interested parties to consider participating in the RFI, which is designed to maximise industry engagement and ensure a comprehensive understanding of the capabilities and innovations available in the market. Conditions for participation will be published in the RFI when it is released on AusTender later this month.
