Power grid contract
Daniels Electronics has received its first order from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), formerly called Transco, the National Electric Transmission company.
The company, in conjunction with its local partner Okuda Sangyo Philippines, last year signed a joint venture agreement to pursue sales in the Philippines.
This latest announcement marks the first step in that venture.
The National Grid Corporation is a former government-owned and -controlled corporation created in 2001 by the Electric Power Industry Reform Act.
It is responsible for power transmission functions including the planning, construction and centralised operation and maintenance of high-voltage transmission facilities, grid interconnections and ancillary services.
Daniels and Okuda will provide radio systems to be used in the modernisation, upgrading and expansion of NGCP's private radio network used to support day-to-day operations and maintenance of tranmission facilities across the power grid's nationwide network.
