Autonomous robotic intelligence, drones, driverless trains and trucks, machine-to-machine industrial communications, the introduction of hybrid broadband TV and growing tensions - locally and internationally - on the impact of mobile broadband demands on spectrum management are just some of the challenging topics to be discussed at this year’s RadComms2014.

With its theme of ‘Spectrum rebooted: taking stock’, the forum - running 10-11 September in Sydney - will provide a unique opportunity to hear about the changes, challenges and choices facing the radiocommunications sector.

ACMA Chairman Chris Chapman will open RadComms2014 and the Minister for Communications, The Hon. Malcolm Turnbull, MP, will deliver the keynote address.

This year’s event also boasts an impressive line-up of overseas and local expert speakers.

Giving an international perspective on innovation in spectrum management are representatives from Ofcom, Industry Canada and New Zealand’s Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

Talking about innovation driving productivity in technology and applications will be speakers from Rio Tinto, the Seven Network, V-Tol Aerospace and the Department of Defence.

Representatives from Free TV Australia, Communications Alliance, the Australian Radio Communications Industry Association, Taggle Systems, the Bureau of Meteorology and CIMB Securities are also speaking.

This will culminate on the second day with an afternoon devoted to the government’s review of spectrum policy and regulation, with contributions from the Department of Communications, Telstra and the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association.

The full list of RadComms2014 speakers and final agenda is available here. Registration information is available here.
