RFI and Zinwave sign distribution agreement
Zinwave Ltd has announced an exclusive distribution agreement with Australian company RFI, a distributor of wireless infrastructure products. The agreement comes as a result of demand in Australian markets for Zinwave’s distributed antenna system (DAS), which provides enhanced coverage of smart devices for voice and data services.
New commercial and residential construction projects are requiring the deployment of infrastructure to accommodate consumer-driven demands. In addition, the need for mission-critical voice and data coverage that provides mobility and access to mobile operator networks is becoming an essential service in shopping centres, hospitals and public transport venues.
RFI is developing the Australian market with the Zinwave system which, unlike traditional in-building coverage systems, is an active DAS that is deployed utilising a fully-fibre infrastructure. This enables the property developer to provide spare fibres in its communication backbone system, thus providing the core infrastructure for the solution. In addition, RF over fibre capability also enables the vast majority of deployments to be performed by the on-site contractors who have a wealth of understanding of fibre installations.
The solution offers a simplistic architecture (fewer components) and is the only system that works on any service - UHF, 2G, 3G and LTE, any protocol, any modulation at any frequency. It provides the infrastructure for any mobile operator in Australia to connect and can also include public safety coverage, Wi-Fi and essential in-building communication services over a single system.
