RMIT workshop for RadioComms Connect
The IP Technologies for Radio Communications Professionals workshop will be held on the Monday before RadioComms Connect in Melbourne.
It aims to provide an overview of basic Internet Protocol (IP) networking technologies and tools for troubleshooting.
Digital networks are steadily overtaking analog networks and the use of IP technologies is vital in the current communications industry. IP technologies are being rolled out throughout radio networks globally and this workshop will cover the current topics and terminologies.
Topics covered in this session are: the need for IP-based technologies; basic IP networking technologies; network topologies and standards; circuit switching vs packet switching; network equipment; IP addressing scheme and configuration; IP backbone networks; troubleshooting tools.
After finishing the workshop, participants will have a better understanding of network fundamentals, how to develop and assign IP addresses and how to use tools to assist in troubleshooting.
Tickets can be purchased in addition to the two-day conference packages or separately. Workshop-only tickets also include access to the exhibition hall on Tuesday and Wednesday.
