Sepura creates senior government and public safety role
Digital radio company Sepura has appointed Jonathan Hamill into a newly created senior executive role of VP government and public safety.
Hamill’s appointment follows the company’s increased systems and applications capabilities provided by the acquisition of 3T, the Austrian supplier of TETRA infrastructure, and Portalify, the Helsinki-based developer, and the expansion of its offering in commercial markets through the launch of its DMR portfolio. The company has achieved continuing success in the government and public safety markets across the rest of the world.
Hamill has held a number of senior commercial positions at Sepura. Most recently he was regional director UK and Ireland, which included worldwide responsibility for Sepura’s covert and specialist portfolio. He will continue to lead Sepura’s involvement in the Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme (ESMCP), the UK Government’s review of its long-term communication requirements.
The role of regional director of UK and Ireland will be filled by Gary Maughan. Maughan has previously held senior UK and European sales and business development roles in public safety, intrinsically safe and commercial markets, including 15 years at Motorola.
Hamill said: “I am looking forward to the challenges presented by my new role at this truly exciting time for Sepura.”
