Tait Communications has joined forces with enterprise mobility expert Mobile Mentor to expand communications possibilities for public safety agencies.

The companies have formed a strategic partnership combining Tait’s expertise in supporting critical communications of agencies such as fire, police and ambulance with enterprise mobility specialist Mobility Mentor’s experience in mobile strategy, mobile innovation and support services.

Mobile Mentor’s services enable companies to maximise the value of smartphones and tablets in the field by providing rapid development and deployment of mission-critical applications with the appropriate layers of security for the data, apps and devices.

James Kyd, Tait’s chief marketing officer, said the partnership with Mobile Mentor forms part of a wider strategy to grow Tait’s expertise in software and services - including management of field devices - through global partnerships and in-house capabilities, anticipating trends in the public safety and critical infrastructure markets.

Mobile Mentor CEO Denis O’Shea said Mobile Mentor has seen a real interest among public safety agencies to include smart devices into their communications toolset in the field. Smart devices have the potential to significantly improve efficiency and effectiveness of a field force but many organisations lack the strategy and governance framework to ensure a return on their investment in mobility.
