VIDEO: 5GPPP technology projects on display
The first video describes the aim of, and technologies underpinning, the 5G-TANGO project, the goal of which is to reduce entry barriers for third-party developers and support the development of virtual network functions. It is part of the 5G-PPP Phase 2 initiative.
The second and third videos demonstrate the blueSPACE and 5G-PHOS projects. The former is a three-year European research project, the goal of which is to develop next-generation wireless technologies to greatly improve the performance of planned global 5G infrastructure. The project hopes to contribute technologies to increase the speed of current 4G networks by a factor of 100, while reducing the power consumption by 90%.
5G-PHOS is working on 5G integrated fibre-wireless networks that make use of existing photonic technologies, with the goal of developing a high-density SDN-programmable network architecture.
