Workshops set for RadioComms Connect
Two workshops have been confirmed to run at the RadioComms Connect event in December.
The Ericsson workshop, ‘Radio for IP Connected Professionals in the Networked Society’, will delve into the company’s realisation of the networked society and vision of 50 billion connected devices. It will also cover how group radio solutions using push-to-talk (PTT) over standards-based cellular networks (3GPP) is one of many emerging applications that can be used to enhance and augment traditional PMR PTT radio solutions, while interoperating with but freeing up resources in private network radio infrastructure for the critical and primary role of supporting frontline operations in enterprises.
The workshop will discuss and provide demonstration on the differing service levels currently offered by PTT over IP solution providers dependent on their implementation of: variations in the levels of network prioritisation; IP network configuration; and 3GPP IP and RAN network feature impact.
Through a live demonstration of a group radio solution across a number of differing handset form factors and operating systems, attendees will be able to witness how these solutions are also making use of smartphone technology to be able to vary the mobile handset based on the needs of the market segment depending on requirements including: size requirements, ruggedness, battery performance and OS security functionality.
There will also be a workshop run by RMIT: ‘IP for Radio Technicians’. More details on this workshop to follow.
