EOI called for marine/surf radio system maintenance
Marine Rescue NSW, on behalf of both itself and Surf Life Saving NSW, has called for expressions of interest for the provision of maintenance services for the organisations’ radio systems.
Marine Rescue NSW (MRNSW) is NSW’s official blue-water volunteer marine rescue service. It operates a public marine radio network as well as a VHF LMR network.
Surf Life Saving NSW (SLSNSW) is NSW’s white-water safety and rescue organisation offering surf lifesaving and lifeguard services along with an emergency response system. It operates a UHF LMR network.
Although the two organisations’ communications systems overlap in geographical extent, until now they have been managed and maintained separately.
MRNSW and SLSNSW have thus partnered for the provision of communications maintenance services. Project management for the process will be facilitated through MRNSW, supported by SLSNSW.
In the EOI document, MRNSW said that the parties seek to “gain a more detailed understanding of the supplier market and range of solutions that may be available”, and that the EOI may form “the first stage of a multi-stage procurement process”.
