JVCKENWOOD radios for the California Highway Patrol
JVCKENWOOD and its US subsidiary, EF Johnson Technologies, have been awarded a contract from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) for the provision of digital radios.
The contract, which involves equipment installation in approximately 3300 CHP vehicles as well as support services, is valued at approximately $40 million over the next three years.
Different counties in California operate digital radio systems that use different bands and protocols, therefore the CHP contract includes developing and supplying solutions capable of operating four digital radio systems in each vehicle using one controller unit.
