No bids for Indian 700 MHz band

Various press outlets have reported that, by the third day (3 October) of India’s huge spectrum auction, no bids had been received for the 700 MHz band.

This is somewhat embarrassing for the Indian Government, which had hoped to reap more than US$1.5 billion for that part of the spectrum.

Instead, operators such as telcos have been concentrating their bids on the 1800 MHz band, which is of more value to them for 4G services.
