Teltronic to supply TETRA for Indonesian rail project
PT. Mobinet Indonesia has selected Teltronic to supply a complete TETRA communications solution for a light rail transition project (LRT) in the city of Palembang.
The LRT, which is planned to be the first one in operation in Indonesia, will provide a vital transport link for the Asian Games, scheduled to be held in the country in the summer of 2018.
The contract will see the provision of infrastructure, including a switching control node, mast-mounted base stations (MBS) and a CeCo TRANS, a next-generation command and control system specially tailored to the requirements of the transportation market.
The solution also includes STP9000 hand-portable radios, SRG3900 mobile radios and the railway-regulations-compliant RTP-603 onboard units, equipped with RCC-3000 8″ colour touchscreen user interfaces.
“We are delighted to participate in this project, which will be Indonesia’s first operational light rail transport system,” said Josep Jonch, Teltronic’s sales director for transportation in APAC.
“Our solution in the Palembang LRT will facilitate operational efficiency and will improve the security of the passengers. The system will also allow our customer to accommodate further expansions for future requirements.”
