TETRA upgrade for oil and gas
EADS Defence & Security (DS) has won a contract to extend the Surgutneftegas TETRA network. The project will complete the experimental EADS network already implemented, replacing the existing analog network.
DS, through its range of business security and communication solutions, has teamed up with T-Helper, in Russia, to implement the radio network, which comprises around 25 base stations.
The network will provide radio coverage for the Surgutneftegas oil and gas fields, as well as a Surgutneftegas pipeline. The project is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2009.
