Integrated comms system supports traffic management in Brazil
Inrico, a global provider of professional push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) devices and mission-critical communications solutions, has strengthened its commitment to smarter public sector communications by providing an integrated critical communications solution to the Jataí Municipal Traffic Authority (SMT) in Brazil.
Deployed with the assistance of local partners Via Rádio and 3R Network, Inrico’s solution combines smart PoC radios, vehicle-mounted mobile radios and the iConvNet dispatch platform to improve operational coordination, situational awareness and communication efficiency across daily traffic management operations. The newly implemented system provides SMT with a unified communications environment designed to connect frontline officers, patrol vehicles and the command centre through real-time voice, data and location-based services.
At the field level, the Inrico S300Plus PoC radio enables traffic officers to maintain instant push-to-talk (PTT) communication with the command centre while supporting advanced operational capabilities, including real-time GPS location tracking, incident video and audio recording, and digital evidence collection. Powered by an Android operating system, the device also allows officers to access traffic management applications directly in the field, helping streamline workflows and improve response efficiency during daily enforcement activities.

For mobile patrol operations, the Inrico TM-7Plus mobile radio installed in traffic vehicles provides dependable PTT communication and emergency alert functionality. The solution enables patrol teams to remain continuously connected with command personnel while conducting inspections, enforcement missions and incident response activities.
At the command centre, the iConvNet dispatch platform delivers centralised management of personnel, vehicles, communication groups and operational events. By integrating voice communication, location information and operational data into a single platform, SMT gains improved situational awareness and enhanced coordination between field teams and management teams.

The deployment has seen SMT strengthen its communication infrastructure, improve operational visibility, and create a more efficient workflow for municipal traffic management. Following the implementation of the solution, representatives from the Municipality of Jataí and SMT highlighted the benefits of adopting advanced communications technology for public service operations.
“Everything can be managed through a single platform,” said Daniel Luizmar Ferreira da Silva, Traffic Enforcement Officer. “For example, applications such as electronic ticketing bring greater convenience and efficiency to field teams. We can access electronic ticketing, issue traffic citations, perform vehicle inquiries and handle our daily tasks directly in the field. Even better, we can stay connected with the command centre while carrying out enforcement activities.”
Genilson Assis, Mayor of Jataí, added, “We are improving the communication capabilities of the Municipal Traffic Authority to bring greater transparency and safety to all citizens in the city. This new technology is innovative, not only for the municipality of Jataí but also for the state of Goiás.”
