The EZ864 Pro GSM terminal with Microchip PIC18F67J10 microcontroller has been introduced as a turnkey solution for machine-to-machine applications. It incorporates Telit’s GC864 module which handles all GSM processing for both signal and data, operating at quad band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz.
The PIC18F67J10 contains 128 KB of flash and 3936 bytes of RAM and is supported by an external 256 Kb of serial EEPROM and a dedicated 3.3 V LDO power supply. The microcontroller can turn off the DC/DC power supply to the GC864 module and can work on very low energy mode on the 3.3 V LDO power supply.
For extra-low energy the microcontroller can go to sleep mode, enabling the microcontroller to run on 1 mA.
The terminal has single supply voltage (5 to 30 V), metal casing, SMA GSM antenna connector, SIM card holder, RS232 9-pin female sub-D type connector, four GPIO inputs, one internal relay and is RoHS and WEEE directives compliant. The serial interface of the EZ864 Pro terminal is intended for the communication between the GSM module and the host application.
