Two series of Smart-UPS models, designed for use in server rooms and network closets, provide data protection and, in ‘green’ mode, can achieve efficiencies of more than a claimed 97%.

The LCD interface provides local and remote configuration capabilities, accurate power status information, diagnostics, tests and activity logs. It displays information from product serial number to company support information in a wide range of languages. It can notify users of a recommended battery replacement date and adjust a battery’s lifetime based on environmental conditions to provide advanced notification.

Each model includes a ‘green’ mode that automatically bypasses unused components and built-in energy and efficiency meters. Switched outlet groups provide additional control to allow for non-critical load shedding, sequenced start-up/shutdown and the ability to reboot single or multiple devices independent of the UPS.

Models are available in both standard and 2U rack tower convertible extended-run forms and a flexible form factor allows operation in or out of a rack. The extended run models allow the addition of external battery packs that sense and update runtime automatically. Up to five external battery packs can be added to models up to 1500 VA and up to 10 on models 2000 VA and greater.

PowerChute management software allows remote monitoring, control of safe system shutdown and advanced UPS management. The SmartSlot internal accessory slot allows installation of optional accessories. All models are certified for use within the company’s InfraStruxure architecture and are compatible with a variety of operating systems and network management platforms.
