Laird Technologies has introduced its enhanced HDDA5W HD series dish antenna.

Claimed to be one of the best performing point-to-point backhaul antennas available, the dish now offers dual-slant construction that provides polarisation diversity for maximal-ratio combining, which eases the impact of multipath interference.

Available in six new models that come in either 0.6 or 0.9 m diameter sizes, the antenna operates in the 4.9 to 5.875 GHz band. Options include configurations for two different gains and three different polarities: HDDA5W-29-SP - 29 dBi single polarity (horizontal or vertical); HDDA5W-29-DP2 - 29 dBi dual-slant, dual polarity (horizontal and vertical); HDDA5W-32-SP - 32 dBi single polarity (horizontal or vertical); HDDA5W-32-DP2 - 32 dBi dual-slant, dual polarity (horizontal and vertical).

The dish incorporates a rugged design for a long operating service life in extreme environments and meets ETSI EN 302.326-3 DN1-DN5 and EN 300 833 Class 1 specifications.

The feed system is available in a single polarisation version which can be mounted for either vertical or horizontal polarisation. There is also a dual polarised version available for those systems that can use dual polarisation to increase bandwidth or implement diversity. An optional fibreglass radome is available.
